ADVANCED MECHANICS | CURATED GROUP SHOW | PAGEANT | EDINBURGH | 2010

Advanced Mechanics, the follow up to Haunted Graffiti from Elph and Lyken.

Lyken's abstract work sought to illustrate a phosphorescent subatomic universe of molecular motors, protein pistons & chemical energy. Elph drew from a love of comic books and manga/anime, creating a hectic mash up of machinery and spaceships. For this show he followed a female astronaut and her adventures in the dark reaches of the galaxy, otaku style.

The pair executed a large-scale mural in the gallery space which served as a backdrop to this new work. There was also limited edition tshirts available for sale on the opening night & a give away disc featuring a specially commissioned music track & platform game.
