Chris MacFarlane is a Glasgow based Graphic Designer, Print-maker and Exhibiting Artist. “A is for Etc” was his first solo show, a collection of screen prints, collages and sculptures. MacFarlane has exhibited in Tokyo, London and Warsaw, produced commissions across Europe and lectures regularly at Art Colleges across Scotland.
This exhibition centred on a study of obsolete signage and it's place in the landscape. Signs, branding and logos that signal prosperity are now shown in their battered, old state, out of context and jumbled together, inviting the viewer to interpret and re-evaluate their relevance and meaning.
